Opening Up A Space With A Modern Staircase

The Challenge

The homeowners faced several challenges with their home’s original staircase. Its sharp turns and low ceilings made moving furniture difficult, and the space underneath the stairs was underutilized.

They envisioned a staircase that would open up their entry and living areas while providing enough room to create a poolside bathroom. The construction challenge was to design and install a custom staircase in an existing home without pre-set specifications.

Longacre Construction worked closely with the homeowners to reimagine their space, relocating the staircase and adjusting the upstairs hallway layout. This redesign accomplished their goals of creating a more open and functional living space and adding a bathroom with direct pool access under the new staircase. They also have a renovated laundry room that is more user-friendly and modern. The result is a beautiful, spacious living area.
